Successes, Reflections , & Motivation from Students & Clients
I began T-Tapp
in October 2006. Years of over-training with weights, FIRM and Cathe
videos left me big and bulky, sore and tired. During my 40's I thought
- and was told by personal trainers - that I needed to lift heavier,
work out longer and harder because of my age, my changing hormones and
slowing down metabolism. I just got bigger and felt worse. I was also
becoming increasingly concerned about free-radicals, inflammation and
general wear and tear on my body.
One day while reading a thread about
cellulite on the FIRM Ya Ya's forum I saw mention of the T-Tapp CRT
system. I went to the T-Tapp site and began reading about CRT, the
workouts and the messages posted on the forum. What I read both made
sense and also seemed too good to be true. I took the plunge and
bought the CRT system and the Total Workout package, and then scheduled
a phone appointment with Lani. During that phone appointment she
explained the reasoning behind the recommendation of using only T-Tapp
and not any of the other exercise that I had been doing, for 30 days.
It was very scary to think of giving up working out so intensely for
two hours per day - I was afraid I would gain weight and lose all
muscle tone. At the same time, the thought of getting results without
having to spend so much time was very appealing. I could tell that
Lani was being very sincere, and something in her voice made me feel
that it would be OK. So, I did the instructionals for about two months
and then gradually added in other T-Tapp workouts. I now typically
rotate B/R, Lady Bug, Tempo Intermediate and Hit the Floor. I try to
do PBS every morning and evening no matter what else I am doing that
day, and also brush using the CRT system at least once per day. In the
evenings after PBS I then do two sets of Awesome Legs and Organs in
Place/Half Frogs before going to bed. I have not done any other type
of exercise since beginning T-Tapp other than occassionally walking or
swimming. The bulkiness is almost gone, I'm two sizes smaller than
when I began T-Tapp and have a much, much better shape. So I've gotten
far better results while spending about two thirds less time per week
as I did previously.
In February and
March I attended Lani's online "Naturally Thin and Beyond" class and
really enjoyed it. I learned a new way of thinking about food and it
was just what I needed to get off the diet roller-coaster. I learned
how to eat all I wanted and lose weight in a healthy way, eating real
foods instead of skipping meals, or replacing meals with energy bars
and shakes. I feel significantly better eating real food.
In March I
turned 51. I started having hot flashes a few months ago and am not
enjoying that at all. As you can imagine, Lani's post titled "Hormonal
Happiness Dietary Approach, deepening the Art of Staying Slim" really
caught my eye. With
this class I hope to improve my form, learn more of all the health
benefits of T-Tapp, better manage these changing hormones, and gain
knowledge based on Lani's own experiences that she so generously shares
with us. I look forward to experiencing this with all of you. ~ Dona S., CA
"Hi Lani, thank you for the wonderful class yesterday. The training really helped me to make connections that I could not take just reading or even watching. I am extremely pleased to know about all the tweaking of the exercizes...I love the fine tuning and I love seeing how things can become more effective. To keep watching and learning is so wonderful and you did a great job... my mind is so full of ideas that I am quite, quite happy.
I had a lot of thoughts about the class, you , and even the different perspectives on how to approach aging that you had. I am glad you brought that up. What I love about T-Tapp is that it creates beauty in motion...it is the carriage of a strong and proud woman...it is knowing that you walk on the earth sure footed and flexible and that feeling translates into everything you do. It becomes part of an aura that moves out around you and touches everyone. As we all get older we need for more of us to focus on what is life affirming and not just age denying. One is positive, one is negative. I know what road I will be taking.
I got so much out of your class, Lani. You are not only a good teacher, but your energy and your spirit is just really lovely and inspiring. It makes you so attractive and it helps to remind me that being beautiful and sexy is all about the whole self....not that moment in time when someone snapped that picture. I found the whole experience to be very compelling and left me with so many ideas and thoughts about women and life, about how amazing and beautiful the body is in the way it works, about getting older and how we approach it...and about the mysterious creation of beauty...that wonderful mix that when taken apart may not seem outstanding, but when pulled together with a strong and wonderful spirit...becomes simply dazzling. I can't thank you enough. Sincerely, Patricia B., CA
After exercising with the T-Tapp trogram for about 6 months, I took a life changing detour with breast cancer. Following
my double mastectomy/lymph node surgery, and during my chemotherapy and
radiation treatments, I continued to attend my T-Tapp classes with Lani
as often as possible. I credit the T-Tapp program with regaining my
complete arm flexibility and keeping my compromised lymph system
working well. In addition, while others might have started to lose
correct posture after such a surgery, mine has remained erect and
aligned. T-Tapp not only does all of the cosmetic things it is
advertised to do, it has been of great benefit to my in my recovery
from cancer. I am almost 5 years out from my cancer surgery and still
continue to attend T-Tapp classes. 53 and still cancer free. Thanks,
Teresa!" Sybil Janke, CA
"Lani gives such clear instruction. She is fun loving and enjoyable, and keeps me involved in exercise and living a healthy life! I learn something new each class....Lani is great and really gives full attention to each individual. She is extremely knowledgeable in what she teaches. She has a LOT of enthusiasm and motivation in her class. She gets everybody going with lots of energy!" Pam S., CA.
"What a great experience I've had exercising with T-Tapp under Head Trainer, Lani Muelrath! Lani is an enthusiastic teacher, confident of the progress everyone can make who follows her lead. She has fun with her students while she directs them, but watches that each one works safely within his/her limitations. Lani explains what each exercise is developed to accomplish so progress can be noted. I have seen improvement in my balance and flexibility and an increase in bone density since beginning to exercise with the class. And, from my first, wobbly moves, Lani has been a cheerleader for my success. Thanks, Lani!" Susan H., CA
"Thank you, thank you, thank you Lani for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and your expertise. Every minute was a learning experience. All I have to say is this... if anyone EVER has the opportunity to Tapp w/Lani, DO IT!!!!!!!!! Totally worth the 2+ hour drive to get there. Lani is an amazing instructor, and you can't help but learn from her...".Karen S., CA
"Lani, thank you so much for coming to Roseville. In the 4+ years since I last saw you..... you look absolutely awesome. I remember when we were talking about the permanent pooch that won't go away. Well, you took care of it and are still as energetic and uplifting as ever. I didn't sweat much yesterday and thought that I wasn't doing it right and getting enough isolated contractions, but oh boy, this morning.......I have met every centimeter of my lats! So how's about a quarterly visit to Roseville to keep me honest?" Patty S., CA
"I had a great time in class yesterday meeting all of you and getting my first training. It was tough but I loved it and I was in a fantastic mood when I left! Lani really is wonderful...articulate, thorough but still fun and encouraging...a lovely woman inside and out. It helped tremendously to see it live and have corrections." Patricia B., CA
"Lani -- thank you for a truly amazing weekend. So very many new things to add into my routine -- it's amazing (think I said that word before) how seemingly minor tweaks make a big difference. I'm still transcribing my notes, which means that I've got material to keep me busy for the next month or two or three. This time of year needed a shot in the arm to keep me doing more than going through the motions and this sure shot me (in the hamstrings, the lats, the shoulders, the triceps ...) Thanks also for being your thoughtful, caring self. It's always a treat to be working out with you live"....Diana I., CA
"Picky Picky Picky! Lani is soooo picky. Tuck in butt Cheryl, flex your foot Cheryl, release your shoulders Cheryl, gosh Cheryl cant you make your elbows touch behind your back look how easy it is when I do it and go buy some new shoes will ya? I mean she even made us take home vitamins and chocolate truffles! Nag nag nag...I thought I was at my mothers house! It's so good to know that she cares :) It was an honor to have my form checked by the fabulous Lani! I'm thinking another clinic in about 6, 8, 12 weeks? Whadayasay?" Cheryl K., CA
"CherylK is right--Lani is picky, which is good for all of us...I've been to just about all of her clinics, but I still learned a number of new tweaks, which I intend to put into practice....Thanks, Lani, for putting on some super clinics (as always) and for giving each of us so much personal attention. Please return soon so that we can have a chance to all get together again. BTW, you looked great!" Laura H., CA
"It was a great clinic. I surprised myself and excited that I was able to do both classes... What more can I ask. I believe it awakened some long dormant muscles and comotose nerves on the back of my left leg and inner thighs. Lani, if this is so, you are instrumental to my recovery." Jane H., CA
"I so appreciated and enjoyed your T-Tapp workshop last Saturday. Thank youfor the fine-tuning of my alignment and encouragement for my new-found workout. I was so thrilled by your compliment that it looked like I had taken ballet before. And I know we worked hard, because I was a little sore the next day. Tightening my tush throughout the workout makes a bigdiffere nce. I look forward to working with you again! And thank you for your upbeat, fun and rigorous workshop. It was just what I had hoped for... and more!" ~Sherry W., CA
Wow! I have never felt so great! This workout makes a lot of difference. I have noticed
a huge difference in my overall posture and think about it a lot more throughout the day. It is also amazing how all of a sudden your mind body connection kicks in and you don't feel so clumsy. Now is the time to work on the muscle tone.
Anyone in class that wants to show this next part to a friend or spouse feel free to use it. My back has never felt to good. Last weekend I did a major cleanup on my property. Trimming trees, hauling branches, raking, shoveling, a major workout. Not one time during the day did my back ache. I spent 8 hours outside and did not even really tire out. Usually after a day like this I come in with severe lower back pain and spend the next day hobbling around. Not this time!
I live a fair distance from any major shopping. 2-3 hours to the nearest mall or Walmart. Driving long distances was hard on my right hip. I made 2 long trips this last week, a total of about 12 hours in the car and my hip did not ache once. I am a firm believer in the T-Tapp workout. Jeff D., CA
